Salmon Masala




 

Salmon masala Salmon is fresh water fish with high proteins,omega3 and vitamin DSalmons are born in fresh water, return to ocean and come back to fresh water to reproduce. But there are certain families of salmon which live in fresh water only.  

Salmon masala dry is mostly served with Kanzi/pez (rice soup). Salmon curry is served with rice, roti, bhakari or bread. This is spicy and tangy curry.

Ingredients:

4 large salmon steaks
8 red chilies or 1 1/2 tbsp red chili powder (red cayenne pepper powder)
2 tsp turmeric
Small marble sixe ball tamarind or 1 tsp tamarind paste
1/2 cup grated coconut
2 medium size onions chopped fine
4 cocums dry (optional)
1 tsp oil
Salt to taste.
 
 
 
Method:
Marinate salmon in salt for 15 minutes and wash. 
Grind tamarind, turmeric powder, red chili powder and grated coconut to fine paste by adding little water.
In a saucepan, add oil and stir fry onions for 2 minutes.
Add water and cook onions till it becomes soft.
Then add ground paste, dry cocums pieces, salt and ½ cup of water.
When gravy begins to boil, add the salmon pieces and cook for 5 minutes.
Serve with rice, or rotis.
You can add less water to make it thicker.
